WESTFIELD WOMAN RECOGNIZED FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Christine (Chrissy) Costigan has been recognized for demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Costigan, who is pursuing a degree in Marketing at Holyoke Community College, will be among the students honored at the Foundation’s annual banquet to be held Wednesday, April 29th at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
Christine Costigan Photography is a fine arts and photography business founded by Costigan in 2007. She landed her first wedding job by offering her services at no charge. Her beautiful photos and professional approach to business have kept her busy ever since. Costigan has designed and published her own websites: chrissycostigan.com and westermaweddings.com. She was recently hired by the Grinspoon Foundation to photograph their Fall Conference.
Last year more than 50 students attending colleges and universities in the Pioneer Valley were recognized by the Grinspoon Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative for demonstrating “entrepreneurial spirit”. Individual awards ranged from $500 to $3,000.
Participating institutions include: American International College, Bay Path College, Elms College, Greenfield Community College, Hampshire College, Holyoke Community College, Mt. Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Springfield Technical Community College, University of Massachusetts, Western New England College and Westfield State College.

LOCAL MAN RECOGNIZED FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
David Douglas of Springfield has been recognized for demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Douglas, who is pursuing an MBA degree at Springfield College, will be among the students honored at the Foundation’s annual banquet to be held Wednesday, April 29th at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
Dave Douglas Auctioneer.com is a vision that Douglas has been pursuing for several years. He is a licensed Auctioneer and a graduate of the International Auction School, which allows him to engage in both on-site and gallery style auctions. With support from family members, Douglas has experience with different types of auctions, including Commercial, Antique & Estate, General Merchandise, Sports Memorabilia, Wholesale, and Charity events.

WILBRAHAM MAN RECOGNIZED FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Trent Guihan has been recognized for demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Guihan, who is pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurship at Springfield Technical Community College, will be among the students honored at the Foundation’s annual banquet to be held Wednesday, April 29th at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
A Minnechaug Regional High School graduate, Guihan discovered his passion for woodworking while working for Vartanian Custom Cabinets in Palmer. As a student at STCC, Guihan earned a home improvement contractor’s license and began remodeling and building projects with an emphasis on the use of recycled materials. Hammer Time Green Contracting grew out of his desire to reduce expenses for his customers, while utilizing recycled and energy efficient products. Guihan anticipates graduating from STCC this May and plans to continue his education at UMASS in the Building Materials and Wood Technology program. Long-term aspirations include obtaining a Master’s Degree in Green Building and focusing on new home construction.

James Tranghese has been recognized for demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Tranghese, who is pursuing a degree in Construction Management at Springfield Technical Community College, will be among the students honored at the Foundation’s annual banquet to be held Wednesday, April 29th at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
Born and raised in East Longmeadow, Tranghese is a licensed general contractor who operates his home improvement and remodeling business from his location at the Scibelli Enterprise Center’s Student Business Incubator. He plans to continue his education in construction management after graduating from STCC.

GREENFIELD MAN RECOGNIZED FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Armen Vartanyan of Greenfield has been recognized for demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Vartanyan, a recent graduate of Greenfield Community College, will be among the students honored at the Foundation’s annual banquet to be held Wednesday, April 29th at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
Vartanyan is the founder and publisher of the New Light Newspaper, a monthly Russian- language publication with the mission of becoming a unifying voice for the Russian population not only in Western Massachusetts, but among Russian émigré population centers throughout the United States. Advertisers to the free publication are offered their own columns to further communicate with readers. Vartanyan is currently working on an online version of New Light as well as a Russian-language AM radio station.

NORTHAMPTON WOMAN RECOGNIZED FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Rachel Besserman of Northampton has been recognized for demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Besserman, who is pursuing a master’s degree in education at Smith College, will be among the students honored at the Foundation’s annual banquet to be held Wednesday, April 29th at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
Besserman and her partner Damon Blanchette founded Emmet’s Essentials in 2005, offering a growing line of innovative organic body care products for all members of the family. A member of Green Products Alliance, Emmet’s Essentials also offers unique gifts such as beeswax candles and artisan word stones.

NEEDHAM WOMAN RECOGNIZED FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Anna Miller of Needham has been recognized for demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Miller, who is pursuing a degree in psychology at Smith College in Northampton, MA, will be among the students honored at the Foundation’s annual banquet to be held Wednesday, April 29th at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.
Miller’s business, Bella Goat Cheese, is the result of her work on numerous farms over the years and her passion for self-sustainable agriculture, humane treatment of animals, community involvement and education as well as environmental responsibility. Bella Goat Cheese is fresh and made by Miller in collaboration with a farm in Sunderland, MA.
