Entrepreneurship : Press Releases
Testimonial: Susan A. Kornacki

February 19, 2006

Dear HGCF Advising Committee:

My name is Susan Kornacki.  I was fortunate enough to win the Harold Grinspoon Award for Entrepreneurship Initiatives in 2004.  I thought it would be good to update you and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation to know how grateful I was to receive the award.

When I entered the competition and created my business plan, I had solid ideas as to how I was going to spend the award money.  Soon after the award ceremony, I attended a certification class in an area called Emotional Intelligence, which was a large focus of my business plan.

Subsequently, I have been working in the field of Emotional Intelligence and partnered with some of the world's leading experts on this subject.  Ironically, I travel across the United States conducting training with large corporations and top universities, write book chapters (two are being released in 2006), and research this field.  Moreover, I am part of a four-person team for this start-up venture and my entrepreneurial skills haev helped me tremendously to help the business grow.

I just wanted to say thank you, because, if I never received this award money, I don't think I would be where I am today.  After spending years in a corporate position, it feels wonderful to be an entrepreneur!

Thank you Harold Grinspoon, and whoever else is associated with this wonderful group kindly!

Warmest Regards,

Susan A. Kornacki
