ener-G-save
ener-G-save, a program of The Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation, was launched in January 2008 to encourage owners of single family residences in Western Massachusetts to insulate their attics with the goal of saving consumers money and reducing energy consumption and the release of greenhouse gases.
Working in partnership with the region’s utility companies, the program launched a major marketing campaign targeting both the general public as well as employees of large companies and organizations throughout the region. Home owners continue to be encouraged to call our 866 number (1-866-634-3021) or go to the program’s website, www.ener-G-save.org to sign up for their free home energy audit offered through their utility company.
What Our Call Center Does:
- assists in connecting home owners with their utility company
- oversees and tracks the process and follow-through for each residence
- gives a $50 award to those home owners who insulate their attics ($100 to the first 50 to send in proof of completion of audit and insulation)
The impetus for this program is the fact that only 20% of home owners in Western MA. who are not involved in low income programs have actually requested a free energy audit available from their utilities or followed through on the recommendations made at the conclusion of their audit. Massachusetts’s residents pay a charge each month on our utility bills that funds home energy conservation programs. Home owners have already paid for their energy audits which is why they are free. This program encourages you to make use of this service to reduce energy waste and save on energy costs!
